About the Role

Aku is looking for a Database Administrator responsible for Implementing, monitoring and supporting robust, stable and highly available Databases that drive Aku’s business solutions.

Job Description

Database Management:

• Manage PostgreSQL and other NoSQL instances through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
• • Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, ensuring high availability.

Data Security:

• Establish and enforce security policies and access controls.
• Oversee data encryption, authentication, and auditing procedures.
• Stay current with best practices in data security and compliance.

Backup and Recovery:

• Develop and test backup and disaster recovery plans.
• Ensure data is regularly backed up and can be restored in case of emergencies.

Performance Tuning:

• Analyze and optimize SQL queries for better database performance.
• Implement indexing, caching, and other performance-enhancing strategies.

Documentation:

• Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
• Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.

Experience and Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Database Administrator 7 – 10 years of industry experience.
• Proficiency in post-database management systems such as [PostgreSQL, and MongoDB].
• Strong technical experience using SQL (Stored procedures, JPQL/Criteria API)
• Strong knowledge of database design, performance tuning, and security best practices.
• Familiarity with database tools and monitoring systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide technical teams.
