We meet labs where they are on their automation journey and are the trusted partner to customers including trusts within the NHS, bit.bio and The Francis Crick Institute. We are also supporting advancements across Core Testing Labs, Academic Institutes, CDMOs, Pharma’s and Biotech’s.

We are looking for a Deployment Engineer whose mission is to be responsible for the installation, testing, and acceptance testing of our lab automation solutions at various customer sites globally.

Why is this role important for Automata?

With an increase in our lab automation solutions, we are looking to increase our ability to deliver to customer sites on a greater scale. Having a team of highly skilled and aligned Deployment Engineers is crucial for us to be successful here.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Prior experience in deploying robotics, automation solutions, or as a field service engineer
  • Essential experience in software integration testing in Python
  • Thorough fault-finding and technical reasoning skills
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical CAD software
  • Able to communicate clearly across both technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience with basic IT networking

What it takes:

  • Prior experience deploying automation solutions, specifically around the aspect of software integration testing
  • Some basic Python scripting knowledge with the eagerness and interest to continue learning this skill
  • Great communication skills to be able to coordinate and escalate conversations with the internal stakeholders from CSMs to Field Engineers and members of other departments and external customers such as lab technicians

Nice to haves:

  • Laboratory automation experience
  • Experience in a technical customer-facing role
  • Basic project management skills
  • Python scripting knowledge
