Capi was founded by Mitch Riley, Scott Liddle, and Tom Watson. Mitch and Scott were COO/CFO/GC and CRO/CMO at Taptap Send, a remittance unicorn, and have spent two decades between them working in emerging markets. Tom is a third-time founder having founded Hubble and P4SD.
Role Overview
As a People Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting and scaling our people-first culture, managing day-to-day HR operations, strategising and implementing initiatives that enhance employee experience, and being a key team support for all things People Ops.
Reporting to our Talent Manager, you will work across all aspects of our growing people operations, including new contracts in different markets, HR queries and issues, and partner tool management. Role can be based in London or Paris.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and optimize the full employee lifecycle from time of hire, including onboarding and offboarding processes
Help facilitate training across the team, working with our CTO and MLRO on rolling out trainings for IT security, AML, etc.
Lead and coordinate new-hire equipment and equity grants
Oversee employee documentation, including contracts, personnel files, and policy updates
Manage HR platforms (Deel, Penfold, WeWork Workplace) and ensure data accuracy
Support on team culture and employee engagement initiatives
Assist with benefits administration and employee queries
Work with candidates and new employees on visa or sponsorship needs as needed

Create and maintain HR reports and analytics (including ESG KPIs)
Requirements
5+ years of experience in People Operations/HR in a high-growth VC-backed startup
Experience with HR tools and systems (HRIS, ATS)
Strong organizational and project management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of UK/EU employment law and HR best practices

Fluent French (written and spoken)
Nice to Have
CIPD qualification or equivalent

Experience working with employment law in sub-Saharan African countries

This is a full-time position with competitive salary, share options, and benefits
The role is hybrid, with 3 days a week in the office (Tues/Weds/Thurs) based near Old Street Station in London, or AvenueRue de Trudaine in Paris
Ideal Start date: May 1, 2025 but we realize people will have varying notice periods and can accommodate accordingly
