Capi was founded by Mitch Riley, Scott Liddle, and Tom Watson. Mitch and Scott were COO/CFO/GC and CRO/CMO at Taptap Send, a remittance unicorn, and have spent two decades between them working in emerging markets. Tom is a third-time founder having founded Hubble and P4SD.

Role Overview

As Finance Assistant, you will be a key part of our high-performing finance team, helping to ensure day to day operations run smoothly and accurately. You’ll report directly to our Financial Controller, and support processing transactions, reconciling statements, and delivering accurate financial reporting across the business.

You will gain exposure across multiple departments, contributing to high impact projects and developing a broad understanding of how finance collaborates with teams across the business to support company growth .

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the accounts payable process

  • Reconcile bank statements and internal records regularly

  • Support month-end closing process and preparation of financial statements

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors to resolve financial queries

  • Support the Financial Controller and wider team with ad hoc finance tasks and projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

  • At least 2 years of experience as a finance or accounting assistant in a high performing environment

  • Solid understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles

  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and comfort working with data

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Professional level English proficiency

  • Location: London

Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with Xero

  • Exposure to international payments, FX, or multi-currency finance operations

  • Studying towards an accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

  • Experience at a startup, fintech, or professional services firm

Additional Information

  • This is a full-time position with competitive salary, share options, and benefits

  • We require 3 days a week in the London office (near Old Street Station)

  • Ideal Start date: July 2025 (we are aware that a notice period may need to be fulfilled and can adjust accordingly)
