About firstminute capital

firstminute capital is a London-based venture fund investing in European founders building the next generation of tech giants. Our network is our superpower - we are backed by 130 unicorn founders and CEOs of the largest companies in the world. We leverage this network to find, invest and advise our portfolio of founders from the earliest stage, and supercharge them to success.

Our portfolio includes Wayve (self-driving), n8n (workflow automation) and Mistral (LLM) now multi-billion-dollar businesses leading Europe’s AI wave. Founded by Brent Hoberman and Spencer Crawley, we’re a close-knit team of 15 based at Soho Works, 180 Strand, with teammates across Europe - all united by a shared mission to help build the next generation of global tech champions.

The Role

We’re looking for a highly organised, ambitious, and resourceful Team Assistant (Operations) to join our core team.

You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager, COO, and wider team to ensure everything runs smoothly - from office operations and events to communications, data, and team coordination. This role sits at the heart of the firm, keeping momentum high and execution sharp across every corner of the business.

It’s a rare opportunity for a driven operator to work in the epicentre of Europe’s tech and startup ecosystem - gaining exposure to venture, founders, and the inner workings of a venture capital fund. You’ll be joining a fast-paced, collaborative team where no two days look the same and where you’ll be encouraged to grow as we do.

What You’ll Do

  • Team Operations - Be the operational heartbeat of the team keeping everything and everyone running smoothly. You’ll take ownership of planning and coordination across the team, managing meetings, calendars, logistics, and key internal priorities. You’ll help streamline how information flows across projects and stakeholders, building smarter processes and automations that keep us efficient and connected. You’ll also shape the day-to-day rhythm of the office - greeting guests, coordinating meeting rooms, managing supplies, and ensuring the environment reflects the energy and professionalism of the team.
  • Communications - Bring our brand and voice to life. You’ll support on social media, newsletters, and website content - helping to craft engaging updates, event announcements, and stories that showcase our work and community. You’ll ensure everything we share externally feels consistent, polished, and true to who we are.
  • Data & Systems - Keep our data sharp and our systems humming. You’ll maintain accurate trackers and records across internal tools and spreadsheets, making sure information is organised, current, and easy to find. You’ll spot opportunities to simplify and automate, improving how we work through better tools, templates, and processes.
  • Events & Culture - Play a key role in shaping our team culture. You’ll plan and execute internal events and offsites that bring the team together, while supporting our Head of Community and Events on external and stakeholder events. You’ll help make every gathering - feel thoughtful, memorable and well-run.
  • Ad Hoc Projects - Jump into high-priority projects across the firm - always hands-on, proactive and solution-oriented. You’ll be trusted to take initiative, find creative ways to add value and help the team stay one step ahead.

Who You Are

  • 2 years’ professional experience
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in unstructured and fast paced environments
  • Excellent written communication
  • Highly detail orientated and organised
  • Tech-savvy and confident using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets and Slides) and Microsoft (Excel, Word, powerpoint)
  • Calm under pressure; resourceful and relentlessly solution-focused
  • Collaborative and low-ego - you bring energy, warmth, and precision to everything you do and are happy working across everyone on the team
  • Energetic, positive and a desire to be part of and contribute to a high-performing culture
  • Interest in technology and entrepreneurship

Benefits

  • Salary: from £35,000 (DOE)
  • Private healthcare & pension scheme
  • 25 days holiday + Bank holidays
  • Hybrid setup (4 days in office, Fridays WFH)
  • Remote August & Christmas periods - work from wherever in the world you like!
  • 180 Tenant membership - reduced rates on exhibitions, access to the health club
  • Free snacks & drinks in coworking space
  • Annual team off-sites & founders’ retreat (previous years: Ibiza, Paris, Malaga!)
  • Free Thursday lunches

Growth & Development

  • Broad exposure across operations, platform, and events
  • Opportunity to take ownership of key projects and build expertise over time
  • Learn directly from senior operators and investors at a leading European VC
  • Be part of a small, high-performing team shaping the next generation of global tech success stories
