Your mission
We’re looking for a thoughtful, innovative and experienced Head of Financial Crime Risk to develop the business's financial crime prevention muscle. Together, we'll push the boundaries of what's possible and redefine the mortgage experience for our customers.
Your role
- Serve as the MLRO, and be the primary point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to financial crime, including the FCA, NCA, other law enforcement agencies or relevant bodies.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential money laundering and terrorist financing risks within the organisation's operations, products, and services
- Monitor and analyse AML and CTF trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks, and provide timely updates and recommendations to senior management and relevant departments.
- Maintain and enhance the organisation's AML, CTF and anti-fraud training programs, ensuring all employees receive appropriate training and are aware of their obligations in preventing and combating financial crime.
- Develop and implement robust AML and CTF policies, procedures, and controls in line with regulatory requirements, ensuring they are effectively communicated and understood across the organisation.
- Ensure Gen H has effective systems and controls in place to identify, assess, monitor and manage AML & CTF risks and issues.
- Conduct internal investigations and reviews as necessary, reporting suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities and taking appropriate actions in accordance with legal and regulatory obligations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as Operations, Commercial, Legal, Risk & Compliance to provide guidance and support on AML and CTF matters.
Requirements
- Significant previous relevant experience in an AML & CTF regulatory compliance role in retail financial services
- Served as an MLRO or Deputy MLRO or demonstrable experience in a similar role
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of relevant AML & CTF legal and regulatory framework and guidance; including POCA 2002, Terrorism Act 2000, UK Money Laundering Regulations 2017, JMLSG Guidance
- Experience communicating and interacting with regulatory bodies on matters relating to AML & CTF
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong demonstrable report-writing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
- High degree of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct
Logistics
The application process consists of a video call with the talent team, a competency interview with the hiring manager, and a values interview with a couple of colleagues from across the business. There won’t be any brain teasers or trick questions!
While we can arrange remote interviews via Google Meet, we do require at least one of the interviews to be conducted at our London office. We like to meet face-to-face, shake your hand and give you a tour of our premises!
