Operations

We’re building an AI notepad that helps teams get to the point faster. As Granola grows, we’re looking for someone to own the operational foundations that keep the company compliant, efficient, and easy to work at.

This is a broad, hands-on role. You’ll move between finance, compliance, people operations, and general business operations, digging into messy, complex problems, turning ambiguity into clear plans, and seeing projects through to completion.

You’ll work closely with our Operations team and collaborate with engineering, marketing, legal, and leadership.

What you’ll do

  • Own and improve Granola’s operational and compliance foundations

    • Vendor and tooling management (evaluation, onboarding, contract/DPAs, renewals)

    • Support with policy reviews and implementation (e.g. privacy, security, HR policies)

  • Drive cross‑functional projects end‑to‑end

    • Example: selecting and implementing a new tool by coordinating with marketing, engineering, legal, and security

    • Define the project, gather requirements, run cost/benefit analysis, and keep everyone on track

  • Work with data and numbers

    • Build and maintain operational spreadsheets and dashboards

    • Analyse usage, cost, and performance data; turn messy data into clear recommendations for people who aren’t data experts

  • Own and improve core people operations processes

    • Support with contracts, benefits, payroll inputs, and immigration/visa workflows

    • Help make our internal processes more scalable and less manual over time

  • Build and automate processes

    • Spot opportunities to automate workflows across tools

    • Document how things work so they’re repeatable and easy for others to follow

You might be a good fit if

  • You have 4–7 years’ experience in operations, business ops, people ops, compliance ops, or a strong generalist role

  • You’ve worked in a startup (roughly 20–100 people) and are comfortable with low structure and high ambiguity

  • You’re excellent with numbers and Excel/Sheets

    • Confident modelling scenarios, analysing data, and presenting it clearly

  • You’re a strong project manager

    • You can coordinate across multiple stakeholders, chase for answers, and close loops without being asked

  • You’re curious, detail‑oriented, and persistent

    • You don’t stop at the first blocker; you enjoy figuring out new, complex topics from first principles

  • You’re proactive and autonomous

    • You’re comfortable being given an outcome, scoping the work yourself, and coming back with a clear plan and recommendation

  • You’re confident working with engineers, marketers, lawyers, and vendors, and can push projects forward in a friendly but firm way

Nice to have

  • Experience with GDPR, SOC 2, or similar frameworks

  • Experience building or improving finance processes (e.g. budgeting, cost analysis, basic accounting workflows)

  • Experience setting up or automating workflows between tools (e.g. HRIS, ATS, finance systems)

  • Exposure to international teams or US benefits

About the opportunity

We’re living in the most exciting time for tool builders since Engelbart’s demo in 1968. We want to assemble the best crew to build this future together, here in London. Our compensation philosophy is to pay slightly above market on salary and above market on equity.

We do our best work in person, so our team spends time together five days per week in our new, bright, and spacious office near Old Street. We’re happy to offer relocation assistance to candidates who’ll be moving to London to join us.

We think amazing talent comes from all kinds of life journeys and experiences. If this sounds like the kind of work you want to be doing — even if you don’t tick every box on paper — we’d love to hear from you.
