Role Summary
- We are seeking a dynamic and motivated EU Public Affairs Lead to join our growing team.
- The successful candidate will contribute to drive the development and execution of our public policy strategy at the EU level and will own the relation with the EU institutions.
- The role is reporting to our Global Head of Public Affairs & Communications
- The position is based in Brussels
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze public policy issues and developments related to AI in the UE.
- Influence and direct business priorities and translate them into a policy strategy at the EU level.
- Engage with external stakeholders, policymakers, industry players, key opinion leaders to shape political dialogue on AI and technology policy.
- Identify, prioritize and craft responses to policy issues that may affect Mistral AI and understand the impact they may have on Mistral AI’s community.
- Solve policy challenges with multiple approaches.
- Drive and coordinate policy campaigns to support Mistral’s advocacy work
- Track and advise on important changes in regulatory or legislative matters affecting the EU to support cross-functional work on compliance with regulatory requirements and inform business and product decisions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in public affairs and policy advocacy
Qualifications & profiles
- 10+ years of professional experience
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional qualification is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in public affairs, policy research, or a related role.
- Experience in the technology sector is a strong plus but not required.
- Strong understanding of the EU policy landscape related to AI, technology
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Advanced advocacy skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex policy issues into clear and concise briefings.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
