The opportunity
This outward-facing role will act as one of Relation’s key ambassadors to the external biotech and pharma ecosystem. You’ll represent Relation at conferences, industry meetings, and networking events to identify emerging opportunities, scout assets, and establish partnerships that align with Relation’s priorities.
This is not a transactional BD role focused on deal execution—it’s a strategic search & evaluation position designed for someone who thrives on exploring scientific and commercial frontiers, understanding market movements and developing relationships.

Key responsibilities
Represent Relation at industry conferences, partnering events, and key biopharma meetings
Build and maintain relationships with biotechs, investors, and potential collaborators
Identify, assess, and prioritise new external opportunities (in-licensing, co-development, or acquisitions)
Conduct strategic search and evaluation across therapeutic areas to identify assets and partners
Collaborate with scientific and commercial teams to evaluate technical, clinical and strategic fit
Support due diligence, valuation modelling, and strategic recommendations for leadership
Professional background
Background in life sciences with strong scientific literacy and commercial awareness
5–10 years’ experience in BD, search and evaluation, or strategy roles within biotech or consulting
Outward-facing BD or consulting roles within strategy or corporate development
Strong presentation and relationship-building skills across scientific and business communities
Capable of supporting opportunity assessment through financial modelling (DCF or scenario-based)
Comfortable travelling to conferences and partner meetings globally
Personal attributes
Naturally outgoing and confident communicator
Strategic thinker with an ability to balance scientific and commercial considerations
Curious and proactive, able to spot emerging trends early
Collaborative and adaptive in a dynamic environment
