About the role
Taktile is a high-growth, post product-market-fit start-up, on a fast trajectory to becoming market leader in the field of automated decisioning. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Decide Team, which is tasked with owning our core decision execution engine at Taktile, complex backend systems involved in feature computation, as well as the overall decision flow canvas. If you’re ambitious, have a strong software engineering background, love doing the simple things exceptionally well, and enjoy propelling a small, dynamic team forward, this role is for you!
What You'll Do
Design, build, and enhance our core backend services using Python on AWS, taking ownership of our execution engine, feature computation backend, and other mission-critical subsystems.
Lead architectural discussions, make key design decisions, and champion engineering best practices to ensure our platform is scalable, reliable, and secure.
Elevate the entire team by mentoring fellow engineers through thoughtful code reviews, collaborative problem-solving, and active knowledge sharing.
Optimize our development processes, automation, and tooling to improve deployment frequency, system reliability, and the overall developer experience.
-
Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including Product and Design, to translate requirements into robust technical solutions and influence the product roadmap.
Requirements:
At least 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of leading complex projects in a senior capacity (2+ years).
Deep expertise in building and scaling distributed backend systems, ideally using Python on cloud platforms like AWS, and comfort with the challenges of high-availability, low-latency services.
Proven ability in system design, experience making key architectural decisions, and a passion for engineering best practices.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders on a shared vision.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience that demonstrates a deep understanding of engineering fundamentals.
The ability to work in a hybrid model from our Berlin HQ, our London office or the Iasi hub. Please note that relocation assistance is not provided for this role.

Our Stance
We're eager to meet talented and driven candidates regardless of whether they tick all the boxes. We're looking for someone who will add to our culture, not just fit within it. We strongly encourage individuals from groups traditionally underestimated and underrepresented in tech to apply.
We seek to actively recognize and combat racism, sexism, ableism and ageism. We embrace and support all gender identities and expressions, and celebrate love in its many forms. We won't inquire about how you identify or if you've experienced discrimination, but if you want to tell your story, we are all ears.
