The role

The Engineering Manager, Digital Infrastructure will be responsible for managing and optimizing our IT systems, cloud platforms, and network infrastructure to support our software development and operational needs. The role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, Network best practices, security and IT operations. The ideal candidate will lead infrastructure strategy, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure high availability and security of digital assets. This role will also be critical in delivering reliable and efficient digital infrastructure paired with seamless software management across all Wayve sites, enhancing operational excellence and empowering advancements in Embodied AI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the digital infrastructure strategy to support the company’s software and operational needs.
  • Manage office systems, software, and network infrastructure to ensure seamless operations.
  • Establish a robust incident management ecosystem to minimize downtime and enhance responsiveness, leveraging AI-based solutions.
  • Oversee cloud infrastructure and on-premise IT environments.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of network, servers, and storage systems.
  • Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, encryption, and identity access management.
  • Manage data centers, backup solutions.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and software development teams to support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance digital operations.
  • Manage IT budgets.
  • Streamline processes for integrating new hires and managing employee transitions through AI-driven onboarding and offboarding workflows.
  • Oversee company-wide software usage, licensing, and updates to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Develop automated systems for software deployment and management, leveraging AI for predictive maintenance.
  • Install and maintain lab environments for proprietary and test hardware, ensuring compliance, security, and alignment with operational goals.
  • Utilize and develop AI tools to increase operational efficiency in lab infrastructure.

About you

Essential

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in IT Infrastructure Management, Cloud Computing, or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Expertise in networking, system administration, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Experience establishing a robust incident management ecosystem and leveraging AI-based solutions to minimize downtime.

Desirable

  • Experience with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation.
  • Strong understanding of software management, compliance, licensing, and predictive maintenance using AI.
  • Ability to manage and optimize lab environments while integrating AI-driven efficiency tools.
  • Previous experience in a software development or SaaS company.
